Analysis of a Bose Advertisement Essay - 945 Words

There is an interesting print advertisement found in an issue of Time magazine. It was an advertisement of noise cancelling headphones by Bose. Bose is known to make high quality products for music such as headphones and speakers. In the ad there is a man in a boat wearing Bose headphones who is rowing a boat and is about to go over a waterfall. The waterfall he happens to be going over is Niagra Falls, which is notorious for being very loud. Niagra Falls is a really well known tourist attraction and is probably the most commonly known waterfall in the world. It is a clever way of showing how the headphones cancel out all outside noise. Also in the top right corner there is text that says â€Å"Bose Noise Headphones† and an even smaller caption†¦show more content†¦A way this relates to the advertisement is by the waterfall. The waterfall can symbolize all of a person’s worries drifting away down the waterfall. Another way one may see a waterfall is as a beauti ful, serene, and peaceful place or landmark. The ad may mean that by wearing the Bose noise cancelling headphones, all your other problems in life will fade away, and you will be at peace with yourself. It is stating that by using Bose headphones you can find that time to yourself that everybody needs and since the headphones are noise cancelling, nothing can stop you from going there. Obviously headphones will not solve your problems but I think Bose did a good job of connecting with their target audience by using the waterfall in their ad. Another element I found interesting in this ad was the way colors were used to set a relaxed ambience. Different colors are used all of the time in advertising for many different reasons. A common reason is that by using certain colors, the advertiser can project a feeling. It is proven that different colors invoke different moods and feelings so by using certain ones in advertising, it can be a way of getting your target audience to feel a cert ain way about your product. Most of the colors used are different shades of blue. There is also some white and gray mixed in and it almost seems like there is some sort of filter on it to make it dimmer and have moreShow MoreRelatedKey Factors That Influence The Success Of A Business1895 Words   |  8 Pagesworking with companies to increase revenue and create successful market campaigns. c) Case study to show how influence was used to determine final outcome. d) Analysis of an online store to illustrate influence on consumers. Enron Corporation Free Essays

The â€Å"crisis of confidence† on the public accounting profession was not something that happened overnight and it is not the fault of one group of people or individuals. The accounting profession is partly to blame for this crisis, as the necessary rules, regulations and guidelines were not in place to hold companies and accounting firms responsible for their actions. The lack of regulations also allowed companies to partake in misleading transactions. We will write a custom essay sample on Enron Corporation or any similar topic only for you Order Now These transactions were perfectly legal at the mime, Just not necessarily ethical. Companies did not have to be 100% honest when sharing earning results and company structure with shareholders. Arthur Anderson Co. Was also to blame as they were the accountants for Enron. They were the ones with the expertise who should have known better and looked to fully explain and disclose what they knew. Andersen’s commitment is to the shareholders, not to their client and they needed to act in a way and present the statements fairly so that a user could make an informed decision and that the statements presented fairly. Enron is also to blame. They were focused on profits – which is not necessarily a bad thing, except for the fact that they were not forthright In how they were getting there. 5.
